History's Best of the Best 7
Are you ready to pit some of the greatest teams, our game's history has to offer, against one another?
In the History's Best of the Best 7 set, we'll get our start with one of baseball's earliest dynasties. The early part of the 20th century was marked with some great New York teams and 1905 New York NL, with their mighty pitching staff featuring Christy Mathewson, might have been one of the best. Moving a little south, we end up in Philly with the $100,000 infield of 1911 Philadelphia featuring Home Run Baker and Eddie Collins among others. Heading west to Kansas City, we're now in the presence of Negro League legends, Willard Brown, Hilton Smith, Buck O'Neil taking the field for 1938 Kansas City NAL. Our next stop is a visit with royalty where not one, not two, but three crowns adorn the great Mickey Mantle in his phenomenal 1956 campaign with New York AL. Back west, we stop in Chicago where some... questionable fashion choices were made, did the gamble pay off? Just ask Oscar. Next up is Mr. Padre himself, Tony Gwynn and 1984 San Diego NL. Back over on the east coast, the Iron Man, Cal Ripken Jr. makes a playoff run with the rest of 1997 Baltimore. And for our last stop, we head to sunny Florida with a franchise premier in On-Deck baseball, 2003 Florida NL.
