History's Best of the Best 8
Are you ready to pit some of the greatest teams, our game's history has to offer, against one another?
In the History's Best of the Best 8 set, we'll continue where we left off in set 7. We'll start in Philadelphia where the games first prolific power hitter in Gavvy Cravath resides. He and Grover Cleveland Alexander lead 1915 Philadelphia NL to a 90 win season. Back in New York, Casey Stengel, Frankie Frisch and the rest of the 1922 New York NL squad continue their dynasty. Now we visit with one of the greatest Negro League teams ever assembled. Josh Gibson, Jud Wilson, Oscar Charlseton, Bill Foster and many others headline for 1931 Homestead of the BBL. Now over in Cleveland, Lou Bordreau, Larry Doby and company take to the field with the rest of 1948 Cleveland AL. For the next team, we're heading to Asia! Marking the first time a foreign league has been represented in On-Deck Baseball, the V9 Yomiuri squad of the JCL makes it's debut. 1967 Yomiuri JCL featured the likes of Sadaharu Oh, Kunio Jonouchi, Masahiko Mori and many other legends of Japanese baseball! Next up, we celebrate a walk-off homer like no other with Kirk Gibson and the rest of 1988 Los Angeles NL. Now we head to Texas where everything is bigger, especially the bats! 1999 Texas AL proves this with the likes of Juan "Gone" Gonzalez, Rafael Palmeiro and Ivan Rodriguez all in the same lineup. Finally, we make it to another franchise premier in On-Deck Baseball where Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling and Luis Gonzalez star for 2001 Arizona NL.
